Overview

SentriCam turns compatible Android devices into locally connected cameras that can be monitored and controlled through a SentriCam Local Hub. This Privacy Policy explains how SentriCam handles information when you use the Android application, the Local Hub, and related local dashboard features.

Information SentriCam May Access or Process

Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, SentriCam may access or process:

SentriCam does not require access to contacts, SMS messages, call history, or precise location for its core functions.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to connect devices to a Local Hub, display live feeds and device status, control live monitoring and recording, detect motion, save and play recordings, diagnose connection problems, and maintain reliable local camera operation.

Local Processing and Storage

The current release is designed primarily for local-network operation. Camera feeds, recordings, device status, and pairing information are processed between the Android device and the user-configured Local Hub.

Recordings are stored in the location configured by the user on the Local Hub or device. SentriCam does not operate a developer-controlled cloud storage service for user recordings in the current release.

Data Sharing

SentriCam does not sell personal information and does not share camera recordings or live feeds with advertisers or data brokers.

Information may be processed by Android, Google Play, device manufacturers, network providers, or other platform services as necessary to distribute, install, secure, or operate the app, subject to their own privacy policies.

Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or valid legal process.

Network Security

SentriCam should be used only on a trusted local network. Communication security depends on the Local Hub configuration. If HTTPS is not enabled, information sent over the local network may not be encrypted.

Users are responsible for securing their Wi-Fi network, computer, Local Hub, dashboard access, and recording folders.

SentriCam is not a replacement for a professionally installed security, emergency-response, or life-safety system.

Retention and Deletion

Recordings and related metadata remain available according to the storage and retention settings selected by the user.

Users can delete recordings through the Local Hub or directly from the configured storage location. Users can remove a registered device, clear the app's data, or uninstall SentriCam to remove locally stored pairing information.

The current release does not require a SentriCam cloud account, so there is no separate developer-hosted cloud account to delete.

Permissions

SentriCam may request camera, microphone, notification, media or storage, network, and foreground-service permissions. Permissions are requested only when needed for the relevant feature.

Users may deny or revoke permissions through Android settings. Some features will not work without the permissions required for them.

Children's Privacy

SentriCam is not designed for or directed to children. It is intended for adult users responsible for configuring cameras, recording areas, permissions, and compliance with applicable privacy and surveillance laws.

User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for obtaining required consent before recording people, audio, private property, workplaces, or public areas; complying with applicable laws; placing cameras lawfully; and protecting access to the Local Hub, recordings, network, and connected devices.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when SentriCam features, permissions, storage methods, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated when material changes are published.
